Lead Technician – Commercial Doors & Loading Dock Equipment

Locations: Mentor, OH and Leetsdale, PA

\n

Pay: $24–$32 per hour, based on experience

\n

Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 7:00 AM–3:00 PM

\n

\n

About the Opportunity

\n

\n

An established, employee-owned commercial equipment company is looking for experienced Lead Technicians to join its growing service teams in Ohio and Pennsylvania.

\n

\n

This is a hands-on field position for someone with commercial door or loading dock equipment experience who can troubleshoot equipment, lead daily jobsite crews, and help develop less-experienced technicians. You'll work with commercial and industrial customers, including manufacturing facilities, installing and servicing equipment that keeps their operations moving.

\n

\n

What You'll Do

\n

\n

\n
• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and service commercial overhead, rolling, and high-speed doors.
\n
• Service loading dock equipment, including dock levelers, truck restraints, seals, rail systems, air curtains, and lift equipment.
\n
• Troubleshoot equipment controls and work with HMI panels.
\n
• Lead daily field crews and coordinate work with apprentices and other technicians.
\n
• Complete service tickets and work orders.
\n
• Perform installation, repair, and occasional preventative maintenance.
\n
• Work at customer sites using ladders, lifts, and other equipment.
\n
• Train and mentor apprentices while maintaining safe work practices.
\n

What We're Looking For

\n

\n

\n
• At least 4 years of relevant door or loading dock equipment experience .
\n
• Previous lead technician experience in the commercial door or loading dock industry.
\n
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
\n
• Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
\n
• Ability to pass required background, drug, DOT, and physical screenings.
\n
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, work outdoors, and work at heights.
\n
• A dependable, team-oriented approach and the patience to mentor apprentices.
\n

\n

Welding and electrical troubleshooting skills are a plus.

\n

Compensation and Benefits

• $24–$32 per hour, depending on experience.
\n
• Weekday schedule with overtime available but rarely required.
\n
• On-call bonus opportunities after training and placement on the emergency rotation.
